Community Coordinator – Residence Hall Manager This is a full‑time Community Coordinator position that provides oversight and care for 220 residential high school students. Work Schedule and Hours: Live‑in position with rotation hours of on‑call 24‑hour shifts. Typically three to five days a week of 24‑hour on‑call shifts. Requires spending 80% of evenings residing on campus. Responsibilities and Duties Administrative – Effectively manages administrative tasks including handling and filing paperwork, receiving and confirming Parental Permission Forms, overnight travel permission forms, alphabetizing sign‑out cards, updating and monitoring curfew check sheets, and overseeing the general administration of the Connector Desk and Community Coordinator Office. Supervision – Coordinates the recruitment, selection, training, and continued development of Peer Leaders; supervises Peer Leaders in the residence hall and/or commuter Peer Leaders; provides ongoing training, support, and weekly 1:1s; plans and conducts floor meetings and community meetings; supports program requirements and student events. Advising – Advises and counsels 20‑30 high school students individually and in groups about personal, artistic, and academic concerns; serves as an advisor to students, parents, and faculty; completes narratives for mid‑term progress reports and referrals. Programming / Community Development – Provides staff leadership, coordination, and general supervision of residence hall programs and monthly community meetings; organizes and facilitates educational programs; promotes a nurturing community environment; submits office expense forms and purchases approved items. Facilities – Monitors condition of facilities; reports concerns; coordinates opening and closing of the high school area; ensures all paperwork for room condition is completed; follows up on maintenance concerns. Discipline – Interprets and enforces residence hall and school policies, maintains disciplinary records, assists with judicial referrals, resolves conflicts, and collaborates with campus police. Communication – Maintains high level of communication with parents and the High School Residence Life Team; submits nightly reviews; coordinates with other departments and stakeholders; handles email, phone, fax, and face‑to‑face interactions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience (combination of college experience, work with a minor in summer camp/residential boarding school, and software applications). Preferred Qualifications Field of study: Student Personnel Services, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, Counseling, Education, or related field. Experience working with high school students in a residential or K‑12 educational setting. Terms of Employment E2 16.00, 12‑month contract. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team building skills. Excellent organization and planning skills. Attention to detail, ability to multi‑task and set priorities. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with coworkers and campus colleagues. Ability to provide, foster, and maintain good customer relations with students and parents. Ability to identify, document, draft, and propose changes to work standards, processes and procedures. Ability to assist in the development of learning activities and programs for student growth. Ability to calmly respond and make decisions in emergency situations. Ability to monitor and promote a safe living environment through bi‑weekly room and health and safety inspections. Ability to maintain high level of communication with all stakeholders. Ability to review, manage, and respond to multiple forms of communication (in‑person, email, hard copies, phone calls, social media).
