Engineer-Mechanical

We are looking for an early-career Mechanical Engineer to join our Tallgrass Project Engineering team. This role offers hands-on exposure to pipeline systems, pump and compressor stations, terminals, and mechanical facilities supporting Major projects. Candidates with 0 to 5 years of experience will thrive in this position by contributing to a wide variety of projects from concept through execution.Minimum Requirements:Education:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution in Engineering or a related field.0 to 5 years of mechanical engineering experience (internships or co-ops in oil & gas are a plus)Familiarity with mechanical equipment used in pipeline or terminal operationsWorking knowledge of CAD and engineering analysis toolsStrong attention to detail, safety awareness, and a proactive mindsetAbility to work in both office and field environments as neededExperience/Specific Knowledge (not required):Exposure to midstream project work or operations supportExperience with pump or compressor station designRoot cause analysis or mechanical integrity experienceCertifications, Licenses & Registrations:Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).Competencies, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of basic Engineering principlesWorks under direct supervision but displays initiative and moves toward requiring less supervision.Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled depending on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the successful candidate. (as applicable to job)Position ResponsibilitySupport the design, specification, and analysis of mechanical systems, including pipelines, pumps, valves, pressure vessels, and rotating equipmentAssist in project execution, from feasibility and front-end engineering to construction support and commissioningPerform calculations, material selection, and mechanical integrity assessmentsWork closely with project managers, field personnel, and vendors to ensure technical accuracy and safety complianceParticipate in inspections, failure analysis, and reliability improvements of mechanical systemsPrepare engineering deliverables such as datasheets, reports, and drawing reviewsEnsure designs meet industry standards (ASME, API, DOT, etc.) and internal specificationsFollows prescribed procedures and conducts analyses to develop design options or recommendations.Will work non-traditional hours as needed.This role will include up to 80% travel.Full timePosting Date: 2026-07-16
