We're hiring detail-oriented, hospitality-driven prep cooks to join our back-of-house team as we open Deepwell — the newest full-service restaurant from the Kindred Hospitality group. This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment suited to cooks who take pride in consistency, precision, and setting the kitchen up for a great service. We offer a challenging workplace for individuals interested in furthering their knowledge in the culinary world. About Us
Deepwell is an upscale casual restaurant and part of a growing local restaurant group, with several other restaurants in the area owned by Joe & Katy Kindred. Our culinary team has earned five James Beard Foundation nominations for Best Chef: Southeast along with other national and local accolades. We want to continue to grow and push the boundaries of food and teamwork. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and menu components according to recipes and kitchen standards
- Practice proper knife skills, portioning, and food handling techniques
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked prep station
- Label, date, and rotate stock following proper food safety procedures
- Assist line cooks during service as needed
- Communicate with kitchen leadership regarding inventory and prep needs
- Follow all health department and food safety guidelines
- Support a fast-paced, detail-oriented kitchen environment during high-volume shifts
- Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred, or a strong willingness to learn
- Solid knife skills and working knowledge of food safety practices
- Ability to follow recipes and execute consistently
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Pay: Competitive, based on experience. Starting at $17/hr.
