Job OverviewFairview Health Services is seeking an Obstetrician and Gynecolgoist (Ob/Gyn) physician to join the multi-specialty practice at M Health Fairview Clinics - Riverside. Join a group of physicians interested in staying on the cutting edge of their field and participating in quality improvement committees. Practice Details:Join a team of 8 physicians and 2 WHNPSurgery and procedures performed at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Ambulatory Surgery CenterHome clinic located at M Health Fairview Clinic – Riverside, with the opportunity to support additional satellite clinic locations as neededFull time (0.8 FTE)Average of 20-24 patients per day in clinicSchedule details: 4 day clinical work week - includes clinic, surgery, on-call time, and administrative timeCall Coverage: 1:9 shared equallyEstablished referral base of Fairview employed primary care and sub -specialty physicians.ResponsibilitiesProvides general patient care involving subjective and objective evaluation, assessment and formulation of a plan of care.Prescribes or administers treatment as determined by the plan of care.Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs.Consults with and make appropriate referral(s) to other health care providers in abnormal or unusual cases. Refers within the Fairview network.Maintains the electronic medical record in accordance with Fairview standards and in accordance with licensure and scope.Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical emergencies.Serves as a patient advocate by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting patient rights, communicating in a timely manner and resolving concerns or complaints regarding care and service.Assists in the development of new policies, programs, procedures or techniques.Participates in research, educational or other special projects or programs as needed.Dedicates majority of time to providing quality patient care and service. Participates equitably in responsibilities of patient care in designated department.May provide work direction to medical support and nursing staff in designated work unit.Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows.Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.Participate in teaching responsibilities within a university hospital setting.Required QualificationsGraduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training programBoard Certified/Board Eligible with the ABMSLicensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice LicensureAbility to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of MinnesotaMeet threshold criteria/qualification for Credentialing and PrivilegesBenefit OverviewFairview offers a generous benefit package, including but not limited to medical, dental, visionplans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, PTO and Sick and Safe Time, CME, tuition reimbursement, retirement, and more!
