Histotechnician PRN
$25 - $42 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks a Histotechnician for a PRN position in Lakewood, Colorado to process tissue specimens and prepare histopathological slides using microtome sectioning, embedding, staining, and immunohistochemical techniques in a clinical laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination
- Section embedded tissue using microtome and mount sections on microscope slides
- Perform immunohistochemical tests on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections
- Execute routine and special staining procedures on mounted sections
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments with documented preventive maintenance
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Histology or high school diploma with 1+ years histology experience
- Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment
- Immunohistochemistry experience
- Ability to embed both large and small tissue specimens accurately
- Histology and/or ASCP certification preferred
- Pass standardized color vision screening test
Compensation: $25.00 - $42.00 per hour
