Job Description Title: Equity Market Risk Vice President (VP) Location: New York, NY Purpose of the Role Set the risk appetite setting for the Trading portfolio and actively calibrate and monitor limits. Accountabilities Collect and analyze market data from various sources to ensure risk is correctly captured, modelled, and capitalised. Escalate critical risk issues or breaches to Traders and senior Risk Management Leadership teams for timely action. Provide feedback on market risk models, including change governance. Conduct internal, regulatory, and scenario stress testing for the Trading portfolio. Steer and execute market risk projects of wide significance (e.g., FRTB, One Risk). Vice President Expectations Contribute to strategy, drive requirements, make recommendations for change, and plan resources, budgets, and policies. Manage and maintain policies/processes, deliver continuous improvements, and escalating breaches of policies or procedures. If managing a team, define roles and responsibilities, plan for departmental needs, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to pay decisions. Lead specialists to influence operations, balancing short‑and‑long‑term goals to meet corporate budgets and schedules. For individual contributors, act as a subject‑matter expert, guide technical direction, lead collaborative assignments, train and coach less experienced specialists, and provide information impacting long‑term profits, risks, and strategic decisions. Advise stakeholders and senior management on functional and cross‑functional impacts. Demonstrate accountability for risk management and strengthen controls within the team’s work. Collaborate with other functions, develop solutions based on sophisticated analysis, adopt research outcomes, and build partnerships to achieve key business objectives. Key Responsibilities Provide senior oversight and governance of market risk across the global equities platform. Assess complex risk profiles, including VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis, and deliver actionable insights on potential P&L impacts. Credibly challenge risk‑taking decisions and guide front‑office on new products, trades, and portfolio strategies. Strengthen risk frameworks, infrastructure, and regulatory compliance. Drive continuous improvement in risk methodologies and reporting with cross‑functional stakeholders. Qualifications Established understanding of equities markets, equity derivative products, and pricing/risking models. Ability to employ quantitative methods to assess risks, forecast losses, and design stress testing. Comfortable working under tight short‑term deadlines with multiple workflows in a dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal skills to inspire colleagues and collaborate with people. Knowledge of risk measures such as VaR, stress testing, and Greeks. Ability to engage trading teams to ensure scalable, controlled risk capacity. Interest in identifying efficiencies within the team and across the firm. Compensation Minimum Salary: $150,000. Maximum Salary: $200,000. #J-18808-Ljbffr
