VMS Hardware Engineer Senior

Salary: $136,850 - 185,150 per year Requirements:

• We require a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical disciplines, or in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
• For a Level 4 Senior role, we typically look for 9+ years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree, 7+ years with a masters degree, or 4+ years with a PhD.
• We are looking for candidates who can obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
• An interim Secret clearance before start and a final Secret clearance after start are required.
• We require candidates to meet U.S. export control compliance requirements and to be a U.S. Person.
• We do not sponsor employment visas for this position.
• Successful candidates must complete our conflict of interest assessment process.
• We prefer candidates with prior Vehicle Management Systems experience.
• We prefer candidates with prior supplier management experience.
• We prefer candidates who already hold an active Secret clearance or higher.

• We lead requirements decomposition and traceability from customer needs through to testable designs.
• We develop, document, and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements in line with contract terms and customer feedback.
• We design hardware, software, and interface specifications.
• We apply established practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts in our engineering work.
• We create statements of work and technical performance specifications.
• We translate customer requirements into system architecture, hardware design, and interface specifications, maintaining traceability across the product lifecycle.
• We define the test and validation approach to confirm operational and functional performance.
• We troubleshoot integration and sustainment issues across hardware and software lifecycles.
• We explore emerging technologies to shape future product concepts and support internal business strategies.
• We monitor supplier performance to ensure system integrity and requirement compliance.
• We coordinate with suppliers, test labs, and cross-discipline engineering teams to deliver on schedule and within cost targets.
• We resolve issues affecting fielded hardware and software throughout the full product lifecycle.
• We mentor junior engineers and help drive process improvements and technical standards.
