Certified Medical Assistant/Receptionist

Job Description A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a healthcare professional trained to perform both administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a physician or other licensed healthcare provider. Core Responsibilities Patient Care Support Greet and assist patients in the waiting room or exam area, ensuring comfort and privacy Med Assisting. Schedule appointments Collect co-pays Interview patients to obtain medical histories and relevant health information Prepare patients for examinations Clinical Duties Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate) Assist physicians during examinations and procedures Perform basic laboratory tests (e.g., phlebotomy, EKG, simple lab tests) Administer injections Change dressings, remove sutures, and assist with wound care Administrative & Recordkeeping Enter patient data into electronic medical records (EMR) Maintain and update patient medical records Schedule appointments and manage patient flow Process insurance forms, verify coverage Environmental & Operational Duties Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment Inventory and order medical supplies Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform preventive maintenance Skills & Qualifications Education: Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent experience Skills: Clinical procedure knowledge, medical terminology, computer proficiency, strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to manage patient flow Licensure: Certification (e.g., CMA, RMA) and state-specific requirements may apply Company Description Rural Health Clinic located in London, KY #J-18808-Ljbffr Tru Healthcare
