Sr. Manager Global Cost Accounting

This senior manager position oversees global cost accounting operations within Amgen's finance organization, supervising a team managing inventory, cost of sales, and manufacturing support activities across multiple regions. The role involves ensuring US GAAP compliance, developing team capabilities, and partnering with finance and operations to deliver accurate financial reporting and variance analysis for external disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise accounting team of 3+ staff on close activities, inventory, cost of sales, and reserves
• Review and validate variance analysis for balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements
• Partner with finance and operations leaders to coordinate month-end close execution
• Lead SOX certification processes and monitor remediation of control deficiencies
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation solutions to enhance accounting efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 7+ years of accounting experience in cost, inventory, or manufacturing environments
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience supervising accounting teams and managing direct reports
• Proficiency with accounting systems, ERPs, and automation tools
• Demonstrated SOX compliance and internal controls experience
