This Registered Nurse (RN) position in an outpatient oncology clinic focuses on providing specialized, patient-centered care to cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy. The RN collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate treatment throughout the patient's care continuum. Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' physical, emotional, and educational needs related to cancer treatment.
- Develop and coordinate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and healthcare team members.
- Administer treatments, medications, and manage side effects associated with radiation therapy.
- Monitor patient progress, responses to therapy, and address any treatment-related complications.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management, and post-care instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and comply with regulatory standards.
- Current New York State RN license with active credentials.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in oncology nursing, radiation therapy, or ambulatory care highly desirable.
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
- Commit to ongoing professional development, including certification in oncology nursing preferred.
