Senior Accountant - Madison, NJAdvisors is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Regional Controllers Accounting team. The ideal candidate is proactive, self motivated, and driven—someone who consistently sets a high standard for their own performance and deliverables. This individual will help enhance operational efficiency while upholding a strong control environment. In this role, the Senior Accountant will report to an Accounting Manager under the Regional Controllers team and collaborate regularly with managers across the organization.Responsibilities:Ensure journal entry submissions are accurate and compliant with internal policies / GAAPCoordinate with various departments/stakeholders to obtain the necessary support required to book journal entries timelyReview staff or peer’s monthly account reconciliations for completeness, accuracy, and in compliant with internal policiesPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis to share with stakeholders for key accountsResponsible for financial close activities including month-end journal entries and recording accruals as appropriateEnsure accounting and finance activities are compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies and proceduresDesign, recommend, and implement modifications of accounting methods, procedures, forms, and recordsLead process analysis, identify areas of improvement and/or simplification / standardization opportunities, communicate recommendations to Senior ManagementRespond to a variety of ad hoc initiatives, analysis, special projects as they ariseMaintain strong communication with personnel across departments and outside the company, including company executives and clients, to maintain the proper processing, reporting and flow of informationAnalyze Income Statement and Balance Sheet to be able to "speak to" the numbers reportedPrepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as neededAssist with special projects as neededOther duties as assignedReview submission of journal entries by staff/senior accountant(s) Qualifications:Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting3+ years of accounting experience CPA or CPA candidate preferredStrong understanding of GAAP accounting & reportingExcellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills Possess strong task management, attention to detail, and prioritization skillsMust have excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skillsAbility to multi-task and work independently with limited supervisionAbility to follow through on all assigned tasks and take on additional work as neededWe are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to our employees including:Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-term and Long-term disability benefits, AD&D401(k) savings plan with company matchPaid Time Off to Include Holidays , Vacation Time, and Sick TimePaid Family & Paternity LeaveLife InsuranceBusiness Travel Accident InsuranceAll employees receive access to LinkedIn LearningEmployee Referral ProgramAdoption Assistance ProgramEmployee Assistance ProgramHealth and Wellness Program and IncentivesEmployee DiscountsEmployee Resource GroupsAnywhere Real Estate Inc.(NYSE: HOUS) is moving real estate to what's next.
