Environmental Scientist

Location: Miami, FL

Competitive Salary: $70,000–$90,000 based on experience, plus opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join our environmental consulting team. This role focuses on preparing ASTM E1527-21 Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental due diligence reports, and supporting field investigations for commercial, industrial, and redevelopment projects.

What You'll Do

• Prepare ASTM E1527-21 compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (Phase I ESA) reports.
• Prepare Phase II Environmental Site Assessment reports.
• Conduct historical research using environmental databases, aerial photographs, Sanborn maps, regulatory files, and historical records.
• Interpret environmental sampling results for soil, groundwater, and vapor investigations.
• Evaluate Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs), Controlled RECs (CRECs), and Historical RECs (HRECs).
• Coordinate field investigations including soil borings, groundwater monitoring well installations, and environmental sampling.
• Assist with remediation and corrective action projects.
• Prepare technical figures, boring logs, tables, and appendices.
• Coordinate with laboratories, drilling subcontractors, surveyors, and regulatory agencies.
• Communicate with project managers, lenders, developers, attorneys, municipalities, and commercial property owners.
• Support multiple environmental consulting projects while meeting client deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Experience preparing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
• Experience preparing or contributing to Phase II Environmental Site Assessment reports.
• Working knowledge of ASTM E1527-21.
• Understanding of CERCLA and All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI).
• Experience with groundwater monitoring wells, soil borings, groundwater sampling, soil sampling, and field investigations.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and due diligence practices.
• Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel approximately 25% as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Geologist (PG) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is a plus.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
• Experience with environmental remediation projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors and drilling programs.
• Experience with petroleum release investigations, Brownfield projects, or industrial facilities.
