About the Role

The Company is in search of a General Counsel to provide expert legal support to the Executive Management Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including compliance, risk exposure, governance, corporate issues, and the execution of strategic initiatives. This role requires a highly motivated individual with a J.D. degree, a strong background in business and corporate law, and at least 7 years of legal experience as inside counsel. The General Counsel will be the primary legal representative for the company, managing all legal affairs and ensuring the optimal utilization of external counsel. Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts, coordinating corporate governance matters, and staying abreast of legal changes that impact the business. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should possess a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility, as well as superlative communication skills. The role demands a candidate who is highly scrappy, resourceful, and willing to take a hands-on approach to problem-solving. A background in the healthcare and/or education industries is a plus.
