Senior Clinical Program Director, Early CVRM Clinical Development

AstraZeneca seeks a Senior Clinical Program Director to lead clinical program strategy and execution for early cardiovascular/metabolic disease development. The role involves overseeing a clinical program team, translating scientific findings into development plans, and ensuring delivery across timelines, budgets, and quality standards in a global matrixed environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead clinical program team and oversee strategy activities, implementation, and quality standards
- Translate scientific findings into comprehensive clinical development plans and programs
- Manage clinical program budgeting, resourcing, timelines, and delivery to cost and quality targets
- Provide strategic input to cross-functional development plans and coordinate governance reviews
- Develop and manage contingency and risk plans, including issue escalation and resolution
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in natural sciences or medicine
- At least 10 years global pharmaceutical drug development and leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years clinical development experience
- Proven ability to lead teams in dynamic environments with proactive scenario planning
- Strong strategic influencing and communication skills across disciplines
- Significant program and project management experience in complex initiatives
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability with focus on solutions and risk management
Compensation: $233,586–$350,379 base
