Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated Field Service Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of our commercial drone fleet. This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, avionics, and software issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational readiness. The ideal candidate will work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to improve system performance, support new site deployments, and ensure safe, efficient drone operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial drone systems in field and operational environments.

• Investigate mechanical, electrical, avionics, and software-related failures to restore systems to full functionality.

• Perform root cause analysis and document corrective actions to drive continuous reliability improvements.

• Support new site deployments, including equipment installation, system setup, calibration, and flight validation activities.

• Collaborate with Engineering teams to implement design improvements, maintenance solutions, and operational enhancements.

• Monitor maintenance and operational data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for optimization.

• Prepare technical reports, service documentation, and maintenance records for internal stakeholders.

• Respond to critical aircraft downtime events and provide technical support to minimize operational disruptions.

• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electromechanical systems.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.

• Basic programming or scripting experience for diagnostics, automation, or troubleshooting purposes.

• Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% as needed.

Work Environment

This role is primarily onsite and includes travel to operational locations and deployment sites as needed. You'll work with advanced drone platforms, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The position combines hands-on field support with technical problem-solving and offers direct exposure to emerging technologies in aerospace, robotics, and autonomous systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
