About the Position

Job Title: RN ICU (Neuro) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous neuro experience required - Large facility experience required - Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response - IV therapy and phlebotomy skills - Experience with blood product administration and central/peripheral line care - Management of dysrhythmias and rapid response team experience - CVA/acute stroke management experience Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the ICU with a specialization in neuro care. The shift is from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, working four 12-hour shifts per week. Charting experience in EPIC is required. Weekend requirements include an every other weekend commitment or six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block. Employees may be called off one shift per two weeks. Each contract requires the nurse to work one holiday. First-time travelers are accepted. Travelers must have a single-state license from a non-compact state or hold an active multi-state license. Candidates must have prior experience with CVA/acute stroke management and external ventricular drain management. The nurse should be proficient in hypothermia protocol and ICP monitoring. Experience in managing ventilated patients and assisting with advanced respiratory needs is necessary. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2, with cases including stroke, neurosurgery, and complex spine diagnoses. Floating within skillset may be required. This facility has a strong support system, including interdisciplinary teams for physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response. The facility is recognized for nursing excellence and offers comprehensive specialty services. Additional required skills include managing emergency medications and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. This position requires commitment to patient-centered care and adherence to safety protocols.
