Description:
Recent Level 1 or Level 2 experience is required.
Candidates must not be employed full-time, part-time, or as PRN with any affiliated facility.
A driver's license is required for submission and will be used to determine geographical eligibility.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Refusal to remove nails will result in termination of contract.
This position covers a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
The therapist will work in inpatient settings and cover all areas and floors.
There is a hospitalist or intensivist available in-house 24/7.
A lead therapist will be present on each shift.
The traveler will not be the only RT in-house.
RT equipment includes Drager, Servo I, Carefusion for vents, Vision, V60, V30, and Respironics S/T for Bipaps, and Airvo2 for high flow.
Shifts are scheduled from 7 am to 7 pm using team scheduling.
Weekend requirements include working days every third weekend and nights every other weekend.
Holiday requirements involve rotating with permanent staff.
Floating to different areas within the hospital may be required in the RT capacity.
The unit/department-specific orientation consists of three 12-hour shifts.
Key attributes for success include time management skills, flexibility, adaptability, communication, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.
Requests for time off should be provided upfront, with limitations on additional requests during the contract period.
The hospital can cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment or fewer for shorter assignments.
The charting system utilized is EPIC.
A BSN is not required for this position.
The setting is acute care, and the trauma level is 1.
