Location Omaha, NE Requisition Number Staff_14479 Department HR EE Relations & Org Development 50000664 Business Unit Business & Finance Reg-Temp Full-Time Regular Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM Remote/Telecommuting Hybrid (part-time working on site, part-time working off-site) Position Summary Directs all division functions to drive innovative Employee Relations (ER) strategies for proactive ER support and solutions to academic and non-academic employees at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Directs and develops programs and strategies that support effective workforce practices, employee engagement, and alignment with applicable laws and policies. Directs and manages a comprehensive employee and organizational development program and activities that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of employees in support of UNMC’s mission, strategic plan, and operating goals. Directs and manages the overall administration of the campus employee benefits and wellness program, including serving as the campus liaison for the Employee Assistance Program provider, Arbor Family Counseling. Directs and maintains overall responsibility for the administration of the campus Child Development Center. Leads continuous process improvement efforts across assigned functional areas to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery. Required and Preferred Qualifications Required Education Business Administration, Public Administration, HR Management or related field. (Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience) Required License No Required Computer Applications Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook Required Other Computer Applications NA Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Fully knowledgeable of current employee-management relations and health and safety legislation, generally accepted practices, principles, and related policies. Proficient working knowledge of statistical concepts, methods, and data collection procedures. Proficiency in investigatory research techniques, information analysis and critical thinking in the development of valid conclusions, recommendations and courses of action. Proficiency in the preparation of comprehensive reports, representing ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and written. Demonstrated effectiveness in the performance leadership practices of planning, coaching, and rewarding/recognizing subordinate employees. Demonstrated success at exercising considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships. Demonstrated past success in demonstrating the University’s valued behaviors in the execution of responsibilities, including: Personal Accountability, Adaptability, Communication, Customer & Quality Focus, Inclusiveness, Occupational Knowledge and Technology Orientation, Team Focus and Leadership. Proficient working knowledge of employee benefits programs management including employee assistance programs. Preferred Education Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, Public Administration, HR Management or directly related. Preferred Experience Benefits administration, change management, continuous process improvement, and higher education leadership experience. Preferred License Yes Preferred Licensure/Certification Professional Certifications from World at Work (CCP or CBP).
