Our client is a real estate firm. They seek a temp Controller to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, reconcile, and record investment portfolio activity for year-end reporting
- Reconcile investment accounts and maintain accurate general ledger balances
- Prepare schedules supporting financial activity, including amortization and depreciation
- Collaborate with external accounting firms during financial reviews and audits
- Assist with the preparation of information for individual tax returns, including K-1s and 1099s
- Prepare and reconcile supporting documentation for year-end financial reporting
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records
- Support special projects and perform other accounting duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with general ledger reconciliations and month-end/year-end close
- Knowledge of investment accounting and portfolio reconciliations preferred
- Familiarity with K-1s, 1099s, and tax support documentation
- Real estate industry preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- CPA is a plus
