• Experience: Minimum 2 years PICU experience; cross-trained candidates able to float to Adult ICU and Med/Tele preferred

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric ICU patients with diagnoses including MS, DKA, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Post-Op spinal surgeries, Hips, neuro post-op, and more
• Titrate medications such as pressors, insulin, Heparin, and sedation agents
• Perform PIV insertions, CVL lines, wound care, drains, and wound vac management
• Collect peripheral blood draws and assist with patient assessments
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team, including intensivists, hospitalists, and RTs, to deliver optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR
• Participate in unit orientation and support team members as needed

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience; experience with cross-training to Adult ICU or Med/Tele a plus
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required; NIHSS and NRP preferred
• Strong skills in PIV, CVL, telemetry, wound care, and titration of critical medications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Flexibility to work 4 days one week and 3 days the next, including some holiday work and every other weekend
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, family-oriented, traveler-friendly environment
