Audit & Cost Accounting Specialist Location: New Britain, CT Job Type: Indefinite Temporary | Potential Temp-to-Perm Start Date: ASAP We are seeking an experienced Audit & Cost Accounting professional to provide immediate support within a manufacturing/aerospace environment . This is an indefinite temporary opportunity expected to continue through the completion of key audit support activities, with potential for the role to become permanent. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of audit and cost accounting experience , along with hands‑on exposure to inventory accounting and manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Provide audit support for year-end and other financial audit activities Perform inventory reconciliations and support inventory audit procedures Assist with cost accounting, costing analysis, and manufacturing‑related financial analysis Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis Research and resolve discrepancies between financial and operational records Support preparation and documentation for external and internal audits Ensure accounting activities and reporting are consistent with U.S. GAAP Assist with additional accounting and audit projects as needed Qualifications Audit experience in public accounting, external audit, or internal audit Hands‑on cost accounting experience Manufacturing industry experience required Experience with inventory accounting and inventory audit support Strong account reconciliation and balance sheet analysis skills Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP Experience supporting year‑end audits Strong Excel skills U.S. Citizenship required due to aerospace/government regulatory requirements Preferred Experience Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience Experience with Epicor ERP or another manufacturing ERP system Advanced Excel skills Experience working in a manufacturing environment where accounting is closely tied to inventory, costing, and operations Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who can hit the ground running and immediately contribute to audit and cost accounting activities.
