Branch Banking Client Consultant I

Position Title: Branch Banking Client Consultant I (Location: St. James, NY 11780) Overview Branch Banking Client Consultant I greets customers, provides exceptional service, processes financial transactions efficiently, and supports team and branch goals while maintaining operational standards. Responsibilities Sales Performance: Support team efforts to achieve growth targets in financial performance (deposits, loans, non‑interest income) and primary client acquisition. Actively seek and deliver appropriate client introductions to team members and execute successful sales initiatives. Client Experience: Deliver a positive client experience by addressing account questions, problems, and complaints. Resolve issues timely, provide client engagement and education, and meet behavioral activity goals including referrals. Risk Management: Accurately process daily financial transactions with a target of zero controllable preventable losses. Understand and adhere to all applicable bank policies and regulations. Additional Accountabilities: Perform special projects and additional duties as required. Consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies, conduct required compliance trainings, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Requirements & Qualifications Education: High School or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC, or foreign equivalent) Experience: 0–3 years of customer service and sales experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the financial services industry Job Competencies Action‑oriented and energetic, able to take initiative with minimal planning Business Acumen: deep product knowledge and understanding of sales processes Approachability: friendly, warm, and able to build rapport easily Problem Solving: uses rigorous logic to solve complex issues and seek innovative solutions Priority Management: focuses on key activities, eliminates roadblocks, and maximizes efficiency Relationship Building: fosters trusted client relationships and collaborates effectively across functions Physical Demands No unusual physical exertion is involved.
