Generous paid time off plans Role Overview Under close supervision at the Radiologic Technologist I entry level and under general supervision at the Radiologic Technologist II, Radiologic Technologist III, and Radiologic Technologist IV levels, perform a variety of duties in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging of the Alameda County Medical Center. Management will make reasonable efforts to train all qualified Technologists according to the operational needs of the organization. Duties & Essential Job Functions Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with designated areas or procedures as required Perform all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as determined by employer. Produce radiographs, position and transfer patients. Provide immobilization devices as required. Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis Select and operate all imaging equipment as directed Develop film by automatic processing and be proficient in utilizing the Picture Archival Communications (PACS) System Provide protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards Assist physician in administering opaque media Be responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine, angiographic and computerized tomography procedures May be responsible for specific areas of technical instruction in the school of technology, service training and training of ancillary personnel Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross‑contamination Maintain adequate records as directed Maintain orderliness and cleanliness Secure and return supplies Cooperate with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department Rotate assignments within the department and by assigned shifts as required Assist in rooming of patients May be required to assist in the development of technical factors and film selection May assist in the use of a variety of equipment or procedures not routinely taught May assist in the training of students Perform other related duties as required Minimum Qualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalent Minimum Experience: Two years of continuous recent experience as a radiologic technologist II BLS – Basic Life Support Certification issued by AHA – American Heart Association Certification/Competency in at least one specialized area (Mammography, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Angiography or Picture Archival Communication Systems (PACS)) as evidenced by certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or through AHS's internal program Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the State of California Department of Health Services Valid mammography certification if mammographic examinations are performed Valid certificate as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the State of California Department of Public Health Valid ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification or equivalent education approved by the state of California Pay Range $68.05 - $86.95 per hour. The pay range reflects the base pay scale for this role at Alameda Health System and will be determined based on a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and operational needs. Additional Information Provide X‑Ray and CT services to Inpatient, OR and ER. Rotating weekends and holidays.
