Automotive Service Technician

SCBA Mobile Service Technician SpecialistThe SCBA Field Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, testing, repair, and documentation of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment and related respiratory protection products. This position supports fire departments, industrial customers, and emergency response personnel by ensuring all equipment meets manufacturer specifications, NFPA standards, and applicable safety regulations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections, flow testing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on SCBA units, cylinders, masks, and related equipmentConduct hydrostatic testing and cylinder inspections as requiredTroubleshoot equipment malfunctions and recommend corrective actionsMaintain accurate service records, testing documentation, and inventory logsEnsure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, DOT, and manufacturer standardsCommunicate professionally with customers regarding equipment status, repairs, and recommendationsManage service schedules and coordinate field appointments efficientlyMaintain service tools, testing equipment, and company vehicle in a clean and operational conditionAssist with equipment demonstrations, fit testing, and customer training when neededFollow all company safety procedures and policies while working in the field and at customer locationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in SCBA service, fire equipment service, industrial safety equipment, or mechanical repair preferredStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and manage daily schedulesStrong communication and customer service skillsBasic computer and documentation skillsValid driver's license with acceptable driving record requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 poundsAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various environments for extended periodsAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to safely operate tools, testing equipment, and service vehiclesCompany VehicleThis position requires the operation of a company vehicle. Candidates selected for this position will be subject to a pre-employment motor vehicle record review, as well as ongoing motor vehicle history monitoring throughout employment. This field-based position involves frequent overnight travel that includes, but limited to, overnight stays and multi-day trips.Work EnvironmentThis position involves travel to customer locations including fire departments, industrial facilities, and emergency response agencies.
