Pastry Assistant Requirements Gather ingredients and equipment to prepare desserts and pastries Follow standard recipes and procedures to deliver high-quality food in a specified time limit Deliver pastries of the highest quality and consistency Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, cakes, desserts, ice creams, and baked items Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines Assist with plating, garnishing, and dessert presentation Effectively manage, store, label, and rotate pastry ingredients and finished products Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry workstations and equipment Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations Assist with prep lists, station setup, and breakdown Support pastry chefs with special projects and events as assigned Communicate effectively with pastry and culinary team members Complies with departmental and Club appearance standards Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures Works effectively with as a team with all departmental employees Works variety of shifts, as needed to include night All other job duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications & Experience (Education, Yrs Experience, Certifications) High school diploma or GED preferred 1–3 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, bakery, or culinary environment preferred Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry fundamentals Food safety or SERV Safe certification preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays Critical Skills Basic pastry and baking techniques Attention to detail in preparation, presentation, and cleanliness Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards Reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic Pastry Assistant Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast-paced kitchen environments Manual dexterity for baking, decorating, and equipment use #J-18808-Ljbffr
