Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Elite Nursing and Rehabilitation 300 Royal Tower Drive, Homewood, AL 35209 Job Overview Elite Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team in Homewood, Alabama. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will assist in providing high-quality therapy services to residents in our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is passionate about helping patients improve mobility, restore function, and enhance their quality of life. Responsibilities Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist. Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, balance activities, and mobility interventions. Assist residents in achieving rehabilitation goals and maximizing functional independence. Monitor patient responses to treatment and report progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the Physical Therapist. Accurately document treatment sessions, patient progress, and outcomes in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on prescribed exercises, safety techniques, and ongoing therapeutic recommendations. Maintain a safe and supportive environment while delivering exceptional patient care. Comply with all facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program. Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Alabama. Current CPR certification preferred. Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or long-term care setting is preferred but not required. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
