Senior Mechanical Project Manager

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager in the San Francisco Bay Area to lead large-scale commercial HVAC and plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Impact

Deliver complex mechanical projects on time and within budget across hospitals, schools, airports, high-rises, and arenas.

Drive coordination between design, field, and trade teams on high-profile commercial builds.

Strengthen client relationships through consistent project execution and clear communication.

Mentor project engineers and assistant project managers to build team capacity.

Support business growth through successful delivery and repeat client engagement.

Responsibilities

Oversee all phases of commercial mechanical projects from planning through closeout.

Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for HVAC and plumbing scopes.

Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to resolve design and field issues.

Lead weekly project meetings and maintain clear documentation of decisions and action items.

Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.

Monitor field progress and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.

Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and contract requirements.

Collaborate with estimating teams on bid reviews, value engineering, and preconstruction support.

Mentor junior project staff and promote accountability across project teams.

Requirements
Must-Haves

10+ years of commercial mechanical project management experience (HVAC and plumbing).

Proven track record managing large-scale projects including hospitals, schools, airports, high-rises, or arenas.

Local to the San Francisco Bay Area with a stable work history.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, ductwork, and plumbing infrastructure.

Proficiency in estimating and scheduling software including Bluebeam.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Haves

Prior hands-on field experience in plumbing, pipe fitting, or sheet metal.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, or similar project management platforms.

OSHA 30-hour certification.
