Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring sterile technique and instrument handling.

• Prepare the operating room, equipment, and supplies before procedures.

• Monitor and manage instrument counts to prevent retained items.

• Adhere to hospital policies, quality metrics, and performance targets in daily tasks.

• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with post-operative documentation.

• Collaborate with team to ensure efficiency and meet surgical timelines.

• Participate in sterile technique training and ongoing professional development.

• Assist with patient positioning and comfort while maintaining safety.

• Assist in pre-operative patient assessment and consent verification as directed.

• Maintain inventory and restock sterile supplies; track usage and order as needed.

• Support post-anesthesia transition by ensuring clean and organized recovery area.

• Demonstrate adaptability to evolving procedures and pipeline-based planning.

Experience/Qualifications

First Assist Scrub Tech for a 13 week assignment. Must be experience in First Assist Scrub Tech for a 13 week assignment. Must be experience in general, podiatry and orthopedics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technician Program AND First Assist Program

Requires a current Certification as a Surgical Technician/First Assist. BLS Certification is required.

Requires a knowledge level typically obtained with two (2) years of Surgical Technician experience.
