About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use):13About the Role:The Director, Business Operations of the Communications Team, works directly for the Chief Communications Officer and across the Leadership Team, supporting the overall effectiveness and organization of the Communications team both internally and externally.Responsibilities and Impact:The Director, Business Operations is a critical role in the Communications team, providing support to the team and delivering excellence in an exciting, fast-paced and high-performance work environment. This role is instrumental in advancing the communications function through transformational operating model improvements, capability-building, AI adoption, and stakeholder engagement, project management, delivering measurable results and fostering a culture of innovation and agility.The role requires exceptional organization and operational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel as well as willingness to play an active role focused on strategic execution at the highest levels. As Director, Business Operations you will be contributing to large-scale & highly visible initiatives focused on driving transformation, growth and operational excellence, including but not limited to: supporting critical business priorities for the Chief Communications Officer, strategic business planning, growth initiatives, and providing business analysis and reporting to support decision-making.Collaboration across functions and geographies is vital as the Director, Business Operations will handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities, simultaneously balancing short-term and long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands.This role would suit a self-starter with a ‘roll-up-your sleeves’ attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to respond to requests with urgency, organization, and enthusiasm in a professional environment.This role operates under the highest levels of confidentiality. Someone who is adept at quickly assimilating information and condensing key themes, understanding the next steps, and able to construct and deliver on action plans will thrive in this role. Cultural fit is also key as this is a close-knit team who moves fast, functions at the highest levels and strives to bring positive energy to the work.This role is an ideal for someone who thrives on embracing and leveraging technology tools, understands communications, has an innovative and growth mindset and not shy away from challenges or working in ambiguity.Efficiency and EffectivenessWork closely with key team members to enhance the Chief Communications Officer and Communications leadership team to provide direction-setting, problem identification and solving, decision alignment, speed and transparent communication. Develop strong working relationships with the Communications & OCEO team and other key internal stakeholders.Management of operations, metrics, reporting,Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Chief Communications Officer to shape and execute strategic priorities, including transformational programs and operating model enhancements that modernize the communications function.AI Adoption and Capability-Building: Champion the integration of AI and emerging technologies to enhance communications capabilities, streamline workflows, and generate actionable insights for decision-making specific to the comms function.Support Communications activities: development of Communications reports and updates and support executive events, as required.Help the Chief Communications Office maximize her time and executive visibility – both internally and externally- within a strategic framework. Help identify, organize, and bring to the Chief Communications Officer critical issues and required information to help improve decision making and problem-solving.Support effective flow of information and decisions for the Chief Communications Officer.Help manage and track stakeholder engagement and follow-up in coordination with the Chief Communications Officer’s Executive Assistant. Facilitate regular outreach and touchpoints as needed.Support Communication team projects, strategic offsites & other events.Contribute to creating new Communications & OCEO efficiencies and capabilities, to support the team’s transformation journey.Project LeadershipExecution of selected key initiatives or projects and additional duties assigned by the Chief Communications Officer.Monitor and maintain an inventory of critical path projects in which the team is especially interested and/or for which awareness and involvement is essential.Determine the proper course of action and ensure all issues are addressed properly and efficiently and keep track of progress until complete.CommunicationsPotential to collaborate and support internal and external communications of the Chief Communications OfficerAs needed, help prepare briefing packets and meeting materials for Chief Communications Officer and related executive meetings or events.Other Performance EnablersSupport the Chief Communications Officer in monitoring internal data related to organizational performance (P&L, KPI reporting etc.) and external insights about markets and competition.Analyze statistics, research data, KPIs as needed on an ad-hoc basis.Develop and implement AI enablement specifically for the communications function, including use of automation solutions and emerging technologies as they pertain to communications strategy and execution.Execute additional responsibilities as directed by the Chief Communications Officer and Communications Leadership Team.Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $115,236 to $215,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
