The Executive Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and delivering strategic communication plans for senior executives within a departmental unit. This role involves crafting key messages, speeches, presentations, and other materials to effectively convey the vision, goals, and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. The specialist may also assist with media relations, crisis communications, and other high-level communication tasks to enhance the executive's content. Strong writing, editing, and strategic thinking skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities Job Duty 1 -
Working with executives and other senior-level leadership to develop, edit, and publish high-level communications, including talking points, speeches, leadership emails, and official messages.
Develop and implement communication strategies that align with organizational goals and support executive visibility; may advise executive on their social media presence. Job Duty 3 -
Adept with standard software and operating systems; has proficiency in presentation design and content management systems. Job Duty 4 -
Manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision, including collaborating with and reviewing the work of colleagues. Job Duty 5 -
Provide communications support for executive programs, initiatives, events, and special working groups; provide subject matter expertise in delivering presentations and speeches. Job Duty 6 -
Translate ideas, objectives, position, and management philosophy into executive detailed messaging that relates to the topic, speaker, and intended audience. Job Duty 7 -
Ensure executive-level consistency with messaging strategies and brand identity within each published article, speech, and other developed content. Job Duty 8 -
Build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse teams across the Institute.
Job Duty 9 -
May provide communications support outside of regular working hours as needed.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four or more years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications
