Job Title: Manufacturing Technician

Job Description

The Manufacturing Technician supports the setup and qualification of a new manufacturing line transferred from another site. This role focuses on preparing and maintaining process documentation, generating and executing equipment and product qualification protocols, and developing clear operator instructions and training materials. The technician plays a key role in ensuring that production processes are well-defined, efficient, and compliant with internal standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Generate installation qualification (IQ) reports and perform IQs on manufacturing equipment to ensure proper installation and functionality.
• Develop operational qualification (OQ) and performance qualification (PQ) protocols, execute OQ/PQ activities on products, and create comprehensive OQ/PQ reports.
• Create and enter work instructions into SAP ECC based on existing documents to support standardized production processes.
• Write clear and detailed work instructions and training manuals for production operators to ensure consistent and safe operation of equipment and processes.
• Assist in designing lean work cells by considering workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow efficiency, and equipment layout.
• Prepare and maintain complete manufacturing documentation, including bills of materials (BOM), work instructions, manufacturing standard practices, setup sheets, and test methods for manufactured products.
• Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide accurate information that supports management decision-making.
• Collaborate with management, engineering, and other staff to discuss manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other key considerations that facilitate effective production processes.
• Support production, assembly, and repair activities by applying electrical and mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills as needed.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience in production and assembly environments, with the ability to support the setup and operation of manufacturing lines.
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, including the ability to understand equipment functions and perform basic troubleshooting and repair.
• Proficiency in generating and executing IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols, and in documenting qualification results in clear, structured reports.
• Ability to prepare, organize, and maintain manufacturing documentation such as BOMs, work instructions, standard practices, setup sheets, and test methods.
• Experience with technical writing, including creating operator instructions and training documentation that are clear and easy to follow.
• Capability to estimate production times, staffing needs, and related costs to support planning and resource allocation.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with management, engineering, and cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy and consistency in documentation and process setup.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with SAP ECC or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for entering and managing work instructions.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and designing efficient work cells that optimize workflow and space utilization.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment in both electrical and mechanical domains.
• Ability to interpret engineering documentation and translate it into practical, operator-friendly instructions.
• Experience in a regulated or documentation-intensive manufacturing environment is beneficial.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing setting focused on establishing and optimizing a new production line. The Manufacturing Technician works closely with production operators, engineering staff, and management, using tools and equipment typical of electrical and mechanical assembly and testing. The environment involves hands-on work with production and test equipment, as well as computer-based tasks such as creating documentation and entering data into SAP ECC. Work may require time on the production floor, collaboration in office or meeting spaces, and adherence to standard safety and operational procedures appropriate for a manufacturing facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Minneapolis,MN.
