Overview

Remote opportunity with the ability to work on-site. If you live local to the Bristol Hospice Headquarters in SLC, you are welcome to work in the office with our amazing team! At Bristol Hospice, we're looking for a Procurement Director who thrives on building structure, driving efficiency, and elevating how an organization partners with vendors. This isn't a maintenance role — this is a build-and-optimize opportunity where you'll create a centralized procurement function that directly impacts cost, quality, and operational performance across the organization.

An Average Day:

(Includes, but not limited to)

Building & Scaling Procurement Strategy

• Develop and execute a procurement business plan aligned with organizational goals

• Establish long-term strategies that improve efficiency, standardization, and cost control

• Design and implement a centralized procurement program across the organization

Vendor & Contract Management

• Lead all vendor relationships — from selection to performance management

• Own contract negotiation, ensuring favorable pricing, terms, and SLAs

• Partner with legal to oversee contract development, tracking, and compliance

• Drive accountability for vendor performance and value realization

Financial & Data-Driven Decision Making

• Analyze organizational spend vs. contracted rates to identify cost savings and opportunities

• Provide executive-level insights on vendor performance, spend trends, and contract status

• Translate complex procurement and financial data into clear, actionable recommendations

Operational Excellence

• Ensure field teams have access to the supplies and services they need — when they need them

• Oversee procurement systems (including Coupa) and ensure adoption and optimization

• Partner with Accounts Payable to streamline purchasing and payment workflows

• Manage bids, proposals, purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation

Process Improvement & Enablement

• Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and training programs

• Serve as the go-to expert for procurement guidance across departments

• Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, compliance, and value

What You Bring

• 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management

• Proven success building or scaling vendor programs and procurement processes

• Strong expertise in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management

• Experience analyzing spend data and identifying cost optimization opportunities

• Ability to present insights and recommendations to executive leadership

• A results-driven, metrics-focused mindset with strong analytical skills

• Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities

• Ability to meet minimal travel obligations up to 10%
