IPC Trainer & Quality

Job Description

Responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining technical training programs that support quality, workmanship, and IPC standards throughout the organization. This position ensures employees are properly trained and certified in applicable IPC standards, quality procedures, and manufacturing best practices to improve product quality, reduce defects, and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver IPC certification and recertification training in accordance with applicable IPC standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, as applicable).
\n
• Conduct new hire quality orientation and manufacturing workmanship training.
\n
• Evaluate employee workmanship and certify operators based on IPC and company quality requirements.
\n
• Maintain training records, certification status, and recertification schedules for all employees.
\n
• Develop training materials, presentations, work instructions, visual aids, and competency assessments.
\n
• Perform hands-on coaching on the production floor to reinforce quality standards and manufacturing best practices.
\n
• Identify training needs through quality metrics, internal audits, customer feedback, and production trends.
\n
• Assist the Quality Manager with internal audits, corrective actions (CAPA), root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n
• Partner with Engineering, Production, Manufacturing, and Human Resources to ensure employees receive required technical and quality training.
\n
• Verify compliance with customer specifications, workmanship standards, and company procedures.
\n
• Support customer, regulatory, and certification audits by providing training documentation and demonstrating employee competency programs.
\n
• Assist in developing standardized work instructions and visual quality standards.
\n
• Monitor training effectiveness and recommend improvements based on quality performance indicators.
\n
• Promote a culture of quality, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
\n
• Perform other quality and training-related duties as assigned.
\n
• Additional duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

\n

\n

\n
• High school diploma or GED required; Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, or a related field preferred.
\n
• Bilingual English/ Spanish required.
\n
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in electronics, wire harness, cable assembly, or manufacturing quality.
\n
• Previous experience conducting technical or manufacturing training preferred.
\n
• Strong understanding of quality systems, workmanship standards, and manufacturing processes.
\n
• Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and organizational skills.
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
\n
• Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) for IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred or obtain certification within 6 months of hire date.
