Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary

Join our team in a role that involves providing general oversight and responsibility for equipment and personnel within the assigned building. This position is critical in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and mechanical systems within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Promote efficiency in all aspects of the building, tracking uptime, labor hours, repairs, and PM completion against enterprise and national benchmarks.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and other mechanical components to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
• Work closely with the operations team to identify potential issues before they escalate, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
• Adopt a proactive approach to equipment upkeep, including the ability to work overtime when necessary to address urgent repairs or maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment status, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing maintenance tasks.

Skills and Experience

• Perform routine and preventive electrical maintenance on commercial laundry machinery, conveyor systems, pumps, and associated mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in three-phase power systems and control circuits to minimize equipment downtime.
• Inspect, replace, and maintain gaskets and other mechanical components to ensure optimal machine performance and safety.
• Climb ladders and access elevated equipment safely to conduct inspections, repairs, and installations as required.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities and respond promptly to emergency repair needs.
• Work overtime as needed to support continuous manufacturing operations and meet production deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with completion of an electrical maintenance apprenticeship or technical training program.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or commercial laundry environment with 24/7 operations.
• Strong knowledge of three-phase electrical systems, motor controls, and industrial electrical components.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts; previous certifications helpful but not required. We offer training and certification.
• Experience working with three-phase electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
• Physical ability to stand/walk for long periods, climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces safely.

Desired Skills

• Experience working with gasket installation and replacement.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience working with conveyor systems and industrial pumps in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems maintenance, including gasket replacement and alignment procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, to support production needs.
• Basic welding or fabrication skills.

Daylight - Monday through Friday
