Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of experience and active BLS/ACLS certifications.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Cares for cardiac and telemetry patients requiring rhythm monitoring
• Uses telemetry monitoring equipment

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), both from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Skills checklist current within 1 year, specific to Med/Surg Telemetry required for consideration
• Competent with cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardene, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex, including titration and application
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring with strong knowledge of heart rhythms
• Knowledgeable in signs and symptoms of stroke with ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient status
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills required

Additional Information

• Responsible for recognizing and intervening in changes to patient status, including cardiac and stroke-related symptoms
• Must be committed to reliable attendance and punctuality for all assigned shifts
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) during the assignment
