HR Business Partner

SALARY RANGE: $60,029.58 - $92,456.00 Job Description Works under the direction of the assigned manager with day-to-day oversight by the Division Director. Serves as the primary point of contact for employee and labor relations issues. Acts as a liaison between employees and various service centers within the division and City Human Resources (HR). Makes recommendations to management regarding disciplinary actions in accordance with City personnel policies, laws and memorandums of understanding (MOUs). Ensures that plans and strategic initiatives within the division are administered in compliance with labor and employment federal, state, and local laws and relevant MOUs. Works independently by conducting employee investigations. Provides innovative solutions and professional support to division leadership with organizational and HR issues that impact the business. Assists with the preparation and auditing of the performance review process. Build partnerships with management at all levels of the organization to create an organizational culture that values all employees. Provides full cycle HR support to the division. Responds to inquiries related to employee separations (i.e., voluntary termination, involuntary termination, retirement, death) and assists with exit interviews as necessary. Performs customer service functions by responding to employee requests and questions. Assists in ad-hoc HR projects, like collection of employee feedback. Builds overall support for HR initiatives and programs through communications with City divisions and employees. Responsibilities Other Functions: Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned. Typical Physical Demands Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with management, staff members, and the public. Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as a personal computer and telephone. Requires the ability to operate an automobile to travel to various locations throughout the City. Typical Working Conditions Majority of work is performed in an office environment except during site visits and testing processes. Requires contact with all levels of employees of City Government. Some evening and weekend shifts may be required. Travel to various locations throughout the city will be required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Human Resources, or a related field and six (6) years of progressive professional work experience in performing employment and employee relations activities in a Human Resources environment; or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must have working experience of software programs including Microsoft Office applications. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
