SCHEDULE: Full-time; Monday through Friday (8:00 am- 4:30 pm) Average of 40 hours a week. Potential overtime on month/quarter ends which could involve Saturday/Sunday

SCOPE:

The Financial Accounting Assistant is a position over the Accounts Payable area and will be responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate processing of all incoming invoices which is an integral part of the overall expense reporting for the bank. In addition, this position will work directly with the Controller of the Bank in preparing financial reports for the Board of Directors and other areas of the Bank as needed. This position will also assist with the budget process, monitoring expenses and other financial accounting functions of the Bank.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Financial Reporting:

• Assist with the preparation of Board of Directors monthly financial reports.
• Assist with maintaining the Bank's financial models.
• Prepare quarterly documents to assist in financial regulatory reporting.
• Provide financial reports to all areas of the Bank as required.

Financial Accounting:

• Assist with preparation of monthly profit center accounting reports for officers and departments as needed.
• Assist with the review and reconciliation of various general ledger accounts, prepare adjusting entries as needed and supply supporting documentation.
• Assist with the administration of the accounts payable and purchasing software including any system upgrades and implementations.
• Review accounts payable entries for accuracy, prepare 1099-Misc reports and prepare monthly consumer use tax.
• Work with the purchasing functions of the Bank.
• Assist with yearend processes and compile information for accrual entries.
• Help maintain the building and equipment asset records of the Bank for financial accounting and income tax purposes as needed.

Financial Budgeting:

• Assist with the input of budget items by branch and department.
• Help with the preparation of budget reports for the Board of Directors.

Other Duties:

• Assist the Controller with other projects as required.
• Assist in maintaining the Promontory website by entering CDARS and ICS requests.
• Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops.
• Involvement in bank and community events.
• Will perform backup duties as assigned to help cover within the department during vacations, leaves, etc.

EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum two year degree in finance/accounting.
• Four years of bank accounting experience.
• Two years of payroll experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of Iowa Sales/Use Tax guidelines.
• Strong understanding of 1099-Misc reporting requirements.
• Work schedule must be flexible during the first week of each month in order to complete month end reporting in a timely fashion. Flexibility also required during the months of December, January and February for budget and yearend preparation. Some Saturdays and holidays will be required.
