Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care for adult and geriatric telemetry/stepdown patients, including ongoing assessment and care planning
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret telemetry, and manage IV cardiac medications and continuous infusions
- Identify rhythm changes, perform dysrhythmia recognition/management, and respond to cardiac events
- Deliver stroke/CVA care within established pathways and collaborate with the stroke team as needed
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Work, RRT) and document in Epic with accuracy and timeliness
- Float within the hospital as needed within scope of practice, while maintaining patient safety and education

Requirements
- NY RN license in hand at submission
- BLS and ACLS certification
- NIHSS required
- Relias EKG exam completed within 72 hours of signing and passed per facility requirements
- Proctored rhythm test: >80% accuracy in rhythm identification and 100% accuracy identifying critical rhythms
- Rhythm interpretation competency and ability to read/interpret rhythms
- Epic charting experience
- Minimum 2 years of RN telemetry/stepdown experience; candidates with only 1 year RN experience will not be accepted; consideration for additional total years with recent telemetry/stepdown experience
- Ability to work in a hospital setting with potential for unit-wide floating
- Flu vaccine or documented exemption required
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Local radius rule: candidates with permanent address within 50 miles of Saratoga are not accepted
