(BEO), a wholly owned Bechtel affiliate company, functions as the construction equipment asset manager of Bechtel Group and is actively engaged in projects across all business lines. In support of its involvement, BEO uses sophisticated estimating and scheduling systems to assist projects in developing bis proposals, equipment lease versus purchase analysis, tool and consumable utilization forecasts, scaffold estimating and supply, and overall construction fleet utilization plans. Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, BEO also manages several permanent global equipment storage and support facilities.Job SummaryIn this role, you will perform tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders. You will prepare bidders' lists, qualify bidders, form bid packages, issue bid requests, participate in negotiations, recommend commitments, secure approvals, communicate with suppliers and monitor supplier performance. Your efforts are to ensure potential and current suppliers comply with purchase order requirements and provide the required service and results to meet project needs.Major ResponsibilitiesPrepares bidders' lists and qualifies biddersCommunicates with Construction and Operations to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions for the procurement of materials and equipment and to achieve the understanding needed to process these requisitionsForms bid packages and issues bid requests, coordinates bidders' questions, and receives bidsPrepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations to awardCommunicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements and to assure performance to purchase order requirementsIdentifies, defines, and secures agreement regarding purchase order changesInitiates and processes purchase order revisions that establish scope and effects on cost and schedule of agreed upon changesEducation and Experience RequirementsRequires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and SkillsExperience with the Digital Supply Chain and capable to support construction by reviewing, assigning, and approving requisitions and field purchase orders.Knowledge of suppliers in the local and national market for specific commodities essential to semiconductor fabrication and structures.Skilled in negotiating with suppliers on pricing, terms and conditions, and delivery requirements.Knowledge of field expediting and experience interacting with field engineers, construction superintendents, and craft professionals.Total Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
