LPN – Rehab & Inpatient Med/Surg

Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 17 Weeks – Contract
Shift: 12-Hour Shifts, 3 Days/Week – Day Shift
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and some holidays

Weekly Gross: $1,600–$1,800, based on experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care in acute care, rehabilitation, and inpatient Medical-Surgical settings .

The LPN will provide direct patient care, monitor patient conditions, assist with treatments and procedures, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and support daily nursing unit operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in acute care, rehabilitation, and inpatient Medical-Surgical settings.
• Perform routine nursing and patient-care functions with minimal orientation and supervision.
• Obtain, monitor, and accurately document vital signs.
• Monitor patient progress and responses to treatments and report changes appropriately.
• Assist physicians and registered nurses with examinations, injections, Pap tests, and other clinical procedures.
• Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the primary or associate nurse.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly equipped examination rooms and clinical areas.
• Assist with nursing unit management and daily operational activities.
• Perform reception and administrative duties as needed, including appointment scheduling and chart preparation.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and physician referrals when required.
• Accurately document patient information using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.
• Work every other weekend and some holidays as required.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active New York State LPN License .
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an LPN .
• Current CPR certification/re-certification .
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong attention to detail and patient-care skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior inpatient hospital experience .
• Phlebotomy experience highly preferred.
• IV insertion experience highly preferred.
• EKG application experience highly preferred.
• Strong experience working with EMR systems .
• Experience in rehabilitation, acute care, or Medical-Surgical settings.
