Sales Engineer

First-Year On-Target Earnings: $150,000+ Compensation Includes: Base salary, commission, vehicle allowance, gas card, and benefits Our client is hiring a technically skilled and relationship-driven Sales Engineer to develop commercial HVAC and mechanical construction opportunities. This role blends sales, estimating, engineering, and preconstruction . You will work with customers, general contractors, engineers, vendors, and internal teams to understand project needs, develop mechanical solutions, prepare proposals, and move opportunities from concept to project turnover. This is an excellent fit for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, building customer relationships, and winning design-build and negotiated mechanical projects. What You'll Do Develop HVAC, plumbing, piping, ductwork, and mechanical project solutions Build estimates, budgets, scopes, and technical proposals Review drawings, specifications, equipment requirements, and project risks Perform equipment analysis and conceptual design support Use value engineering to create practical, cost-effective solutions Identify and qualify new commercial construction opportunities Build relationships with customers, general contractors, engineers, and facility leaders Coordinate pricing with vendors, subcontractors, estimating, and operations teams Present technical solutions in a clear and customer-friendly way Support a smooth project handoff from sales to operations Maintain accurate estimating, customer, and opportunity documentation What You Bring Experience in mechanical sales, estimating, design, preconstruction, engineering, or business development Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and mechanical building systems Experience preparing estimates, budgets, scopes, or technical proposals Ability to turn customer challenges into practical mechanical solutions Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Experience working with general contractors or commercial construction customers Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field Design-build HVAC or mechanical construction experience Background in mechanical engineering, system design, or commercial estimating Experience selling complex mechanical construction or service solutions Familiarity with commercial contracts and preconstruction processes Existing relationships with general contractors, engineers, owners, or facility leaders Compensation and Benefits First-year on-target earnings of $150,000+ Competitive base salary and commission Vehicle allowance and gas card Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Career development and advancement opportunities Our client is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.
