Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of students by working as a Special Education Paraprofessional on a full-time contract basis for the 2022-2023 school year. This position supports K-12 students with mild to moderate special needs in a school setting near Stafford, VA. Whether working 1:1 or supporting classroom instruction, you will play a vital role in shaping a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional in educational settings is highly valued
- Background working with students with special needs is a plus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptable, patient, and compassionate when addressing student needs
Responsibilities:
- Support special education teachers in the delivery of instructional and behavioral programs
- Assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and accommodations
- Provide 1:1 or small group assistance to students as needed
- Foster an encouraging and inclusive atmosphere
- Maintain accurate records, document progress, and communicate effectively with the instructional team
- Help with classroom management, transitions, and daily routines
- Be proactive in ensuring student safety and engagement
