Medical Lab Technologist

Labcorp seeks a Medical Lab Technologist for its microbiology department in Portland, Oregon. The role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, operating instrumentation, and ensuring accurate test results on a Monday-Friday evening shift with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assess specimen acceptability according to established testing criteria
• Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures following standard operating procedures
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper functionality
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Execute preventative maintenance and quality control documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• One year or more clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
• Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
• Current ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
