About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel to serve as a key legal advisor to executive leadership and manage the organization's legal function. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic legal guidance on business initiatives, overseeing legal risk management, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. This role involves managing the legal aspects of complex commercial transactions, including drafting and negotiating contracts, and advising on major business deals. The Senior Counsel will also be involved in supervising and delegating work to legal professionals, as well as managing outside counsel relationships. Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, be admitted to the bar, and have at least 5 years' of experience in a law firm or comparable in-house legal role. A strong background in corporate law, contract law, regulatory compliance, and risk management is essential, with a preference for those who have experience in financial services. The role requires the ability to align legal strategies with business objectives, strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication. The ideal candidate will have a high level of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to ethical conduct, and should be adept at managing legal resources and outside counsel.
