Senior QC Mortgage Underwriter | Risk & Compliance

We are seeking an experienced QC Mortgage Underwriter to perform quality control and risk analysis across residential mortgage loan files. The role focuses on ensuring loan accuracy, guideline compliance, and underwriting quality in alignment with investor, lender, and agency standards. Core Responsibilities Analyze borrower income, employment, credit profile, appraisal, DTI, LTV, and other credit-related factors for mortgage applications Validate loan applications against lender, investor (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac), and government agency guidelines Assess credit risk to determine loan acceptability Perform quality control review and identify errors or deficiencies in loan files Verify supporting documentation including employment records, assets, down payment/reserve sources, appraisal value, and title commitments Review legal and loan documents for accuracy and completeness Determine mortgage insurance (MI) requirements and ensure compliance with MI guidelines Maintain service level standards and underwriting deadlines Provide QC feedback, floor support, and assist in new hire training Perform internal quality checks and respond to emails in a timely manner Required Skills & Experience 2–3 years of conventional mortgage underwriting and/or QC/QA experience Strong knowledge of full mortgage loan lifecycle Hands-on experience with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP) Strong understanding of mortgage guidelines, investor requirements, and risk assessment Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to identify and resolve complex underwriting issues Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently #J-18808-Ljbffr Veriipro
