Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring CA RN licensure and critical care skills including ventilator management and vasoactive drip titration.

• Acute care ICU setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15)
• Every other Saturday/Sunday weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification required within 180 days of hire
• TNCC certification required within 180 days of hire
• NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Experience managing continuous IV sedation, paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
• Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management and IV insulin protocols
• Preferred experience with CABG, post cardiac surgery, Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring, and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring
• Preferred experience with GI surgery and phlebotomy
• Preferred experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute ICU setting
• Provides holistic, individualized care incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors
• Develops and implements comprehensive plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare teams
• Maintains effective communication to foster collaborative relationships and optimal patient outcomes
• Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at local rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 RTO days per contract, with only 1 holiday RTO request approved per contract
• Holiday RTO restricted for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
