• Safely operate a company van, following all traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Transport students to and from school, adhering to the designated route and schedule.
• Ensure students’ safety by assisting with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, helping with seatbelts when necessary.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly attitude when interacting with students, parents, and school staff.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it’s in safe working condition.
• Communicate effectively with school personnel, parents, and dispatch regarding any delays, route changes, or issues.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle maintenance needs in a timely manner.

• Age: 21 years or older.
• Driver’s License: Possess a valid, properly classified Illinois driver’s license or a valid license from Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, or Kentucky, with an “S” endorsement.
• Experience: Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least three years, with no revocations, suspensions, cancellations, or disqualifications.
• Testing:
  
  
  • Pass the Illinois written school bus driver permit test.
• • Pass a behind-the-wheel exam in the type of vehicle you will be driving. 
• • Pass a physical examination, including drug and tuberculosis testing.

• Background Checks:
  
  
  • Pass an Illinois-specific and FBI criminal background check.
• • Not have been convicted of serious traffic violations, reckless driving, DUI, or reckless homicide within the past three years.
• • Not have caused a fatal accident as a result of unlawful vehicle operation.

• Other Requirements:
  
  
  • Affirm under penalty of perjury that no false statements or material concealment have been made in the application process.
• • Complete an initial classroom training course, with a refresher course required for renewal.
• • Consent to release of drug and alcohol testing results to the Secretary of State.
• • Not have been afflicted with any mental disabilities or diseases in the last five years.

• Competitive hourly pay: $17.30 - $25 per hour.
