Senior Scientist R&D
Natera
Natera seeks a Senior Scientist in Molecular Biology R&D to design and execute laboratory research advancing liquid biopsy-based cancer detection assays. The role requires NGS assay development expertise and experience with multiomic approaches in oncology, based in San Carlos, CA.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and execute laboratory research for liquid biopsy diagnostic test development
- Develop, optimize, and transfer nucleic acid-based diagnostic protocols to the Development team
- Design and conduct high-complexity experiments independently
- Coordinate experimental execution and analysis with statistics, bioinformatics, and interdepartmental teams
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and may supervise research associates
Requirements
- Ph.D. in molecular biology, genomics, biochemistry, or related field
- 5–8 years industry experience or 2+ years postdoctoral research
- Demonstrated expertise developing NGS assays
- Experience applying multiomic approaches to oncology
- Proficiency in basic data analysis tools (R, JMP, Excel)
- Ability to design and execute complex experiments independently
