Role Description The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a full-time, on-site role based in TerreHaute, IN, responsible for overseeing daily operations across clinical and administrative departments. The COO will manage operational workflows, optimize processes, and coordinate resources to ensure efficient delivery of medical, dental, and behavioral health services. This role includes developing and implementing operational plans, monitoring performance metrics, and collaborating with executive leadership to support strategic initiatives. The COO will lead and mentor managers and staff, ensure compliance with FQHC regulations and organizational policies, and support quality improvement and patient experience efforts. The position also involves active participation in budgeting, financial oversight related to operations, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) preferred. Minimum of five years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with demonstrated success in operational management, team leadership, and organizational performance improvement. Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, or other safety-net healthcare setting preferred. Experience with federal and state grant writing, grant management, and compliance preferred. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing healthcare facility operations.
