Process Supervisor

OVERVIEW

The Process Supervisor will direct all activities of the entire refining process of cane sugar including the receipt of liquid materials, ensuring quality standards are met through the efficient use of energy (fuel and steam), water, air, and electric power.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains standard production rates while ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and quality standards Leads assigned teams in the continuous improvement process Achieves results through subordinates in a unionized environment WORK EXPERIENCES Five years of experience in a chemical processing, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing plant as a process/production supervisor or related experience. Previous experience supervising union personnel. Experience with and demonstrated success in leading operational excellence/continuous improvement efforts. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred in an engineering, science, or business related field. Concentration in chemical engineering, physics, or related science field is preferred. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Responsible for the supervision of union hourly employees ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES) Quantifiable leadership skills Ability to train others Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices Proficiency with SAP is preferred LOCATION OF ROLE Chalmette, LA We are an equal opportunity employer.
